After reviewing a raspberry jelly donut, I thought it only fair to compare it this week with a Raspberry “Bullseye” from Seattle. Mike returns with another Top Pot review. A Bullseye is a traditional round raised donut round with a divot for jelly. Instead of being filled from the side, it’s filled from the top!
Appearance: 5
It’s a glazed yeast donut with a dollop of raspberry jam in the center – it stood out to me!
Dough: 5
Excellent: fluffy and light
Glaze/frosting: 5
It’s glazed just right! Sometimes glazed donuts can be overwhelmingly sweet, but this one is not!
Topping: 5
The raspberry jam was amazing! It strikes a nice balance between sweet and tart and complements the rest of the donut.
Filling: N/A
Overall Taste: 5
Excellent! If there weren’t so many other donuts to try at Top Pot, I’d get the Raspberry Bullseye over and over!
Total: 25/25 sprinkles
PERFECT SCORE!
